EMPLOYER: Riverside Energy Michigan LLC (REM) is an independent, growth-oriented company engaged in the exploration, operation, and development of oil and natural gas assets. REM is looking for a Compliance Coordinator to join our Production & Engineering team, supporting our Field Operations. The Compliance Coordinator will work either at the company’s HQ office in Traverse City, MI or Field office in Gaylord, MI. This is a full-time in office position.
COMPENSATION: $50,000 to $60,000 per year, commensurate with qualifications and experience
The Compliance Coordinator works closely with field operations, engineering, and safety to ensure proper environmental and pipeline compliance. They support all aspects of compliance with a high degree of accuracy, including but not limited to:
- Ensure company compliance with federal, state and local environmental and pipeline requirements by studying existing and new legislation and advise management of needed actions
- Apply for environmental and regulatory permits, profiles, etc. necessary for natural gas facility operations
- Monitor requirements set forth in permits
- Manage preparation, completion and timely filing of regulatory and compliance reports and documents
- Coordinate with government agencies during general requests and audits; prepare audit data by compiling and analyzing internal and external information, monitor audit process to completion
- Work with third parties, including consultants and vendors, in coordinating work related to environmental issues
- Identify and evaluate new projects against regulatory requirements
- Monitor environmental spills and incidents for further reporting
- Understand state and federal pipeline rules and regulations to assist in managing company Operations, Maintenance and Emergency program
- Develop and maintain tracking, reporting, and mapping tools needed to ensure compliance
- Prepare reports for management as needed
- Assist in the implementation and monitoring of compliance controls, compliance procedures and operational processes
- Help promote the organization’s reputation by maintaining compliance
- Assist with related special projects or related duties as required or assigned by management
- High school diploma or equivalent and one to five years relevant administrative experience; bachelor's degree preferred but not required, especially if you have oil & gas compliance experience.
- Strong proficiency using Microsoft Office 365 products – Outlook, Word and Excel required.
- Proficiency in data entry and using internet for research required.
- Working knowledge of GIS software (ArcGIS or similar) preferred but not required.
- Ability to calculate accurate figures and amounts; strong problem-solving and data analytical skills; excellent written and verbal communication skills.

- Ability to prepare reports and business correspondence.
- Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions with an eagerness to learn new things.
- Strong organizational skills; able to prioritize and follow through consistently with changing priorities.
