We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Communications Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing, implementing, and managing internal and external communication strategies. The role requires proactive communication with strong writing, editing, and project management skills, as well as the ability to collaborate effectively across all business units.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
•Coordinate with various Business Units and departments to gather information and ensure consistent messaging across all communications.
•Ensure records of all communication are retained in an organized, centralized and readily accessible location. Ensure company tools used to support this (such as SharePoint, Teams, Power BI) are kept updated.
•Preserve the use of the MODEC brand, its image and visual identity, internally and externally, through control of the logo's application.
Internal Communications:
•Collaborate with Leadership: Work directly with the President and senior management to draft, edit, and distribute compelling internal communications. This includes company-wide announcements, project updates, executive messages, compliance, Quality, and HSSE (Health, Safety, Security, and Environment) communications, and other essential information that keeps our employees informed and engaged.
•Global Intranet Content Creation: Develop and write engaging articles and content for the global company intranet. You'll focus on company activities, organizational changes, project updates, and various business unit content articles, helping to foster a strong sense of community across all entities.
•Newsletter Management: Take charge of our company newsletter, a frequent publication covering both our ongoing business transformation and regular business news. You'll manage content creation, editing, and distribution to ensure employees stay informed and connected.
•Cross-Entity Coordination: Act as a liaison with communications specialists from other company entities to align on global communication strategies and ensure cohesive messaging across our international operations.
External Communications & Business Development Support:
•Social Media Management: Develop and execute social media strategies, creating engaging content for various platforms (e.g., LinkedIn, X, Facebook) to enhance brand visibility, promote company activities, and support business development initiatives.
•Inter-Entity Collaboration: Coordinate with communications and marketing specialists from other entities to ensure consistency in external messaging and leverage best practices across the organization.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:
•Bachelor's degree in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, Journalism, or a related field.
•5-7 years of experience in a communications role, ideally with exposure to both internal and external communications.
•Knowledge of local and international oil, gas, energy and offshore markets.
•Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with digital communication tools and platforms.
•Experience with graphic design and multimedia content creation.
•Exceptional writing, editing, and proofreading skills with a keen eye for detail.
•Proficiency in managing various social media platforms (e.g., LinkedIn, X, Facebook).
•Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and meet deadlines.
•Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams and senior leadership.
•A proactive and adaptable approach, with a willingness to learn and grow in a fast-paced environment.
