Position Summary
The Telecommunications Specialist supports the administration, deployment, and maintenance of the organization's enterprise communications systems. This role assists with configuring telephony services, mobile device management, and telecommunications infrastructure while providing technical support to end users. The Specialist position serves as an entry point into telecommunications, providing hands-on learning while supporting day-to-day operations.
Essential Job Functions
•System Support and Maintenance
+ Assist with daily monitoring and basic maintenance of telecommunications systems.
+ Configure and deploy mobile devices, desk phones, and related equipment.
+ Perform basic administration tasks within mobile device management (MDM) solutions.
+ Document system configurations, updates, and support materials.
•User Support and Training
+ Serve as Tier I support for telecommunications and communications systems.
+ Assist users with hardware setup, system navigation, and basic troubleshooting.
+ Support the development of user guides and training materials.
•Device and Data Management
+ Deploy and configure iPads, cellular devices, and cellular modems.
+ Validate device configurations and perform routine updates.
+ Maintain accurate hardware inventory records.
+ Assist in documenting workflows and system procedures.
+ Support minor system changes or configuration adjustments under supervision.
+ Document technical requirements to support automation or integration efforts.
+ Participate in assigned tasks for telecommunications projects, upgrades, or migrations.
+ Coordinate with vendors and internal teams on assigned activities.
+ Track project deliverables and maintains documentation.
•Compliance and Documentation
+ Maintain documentation to support compliance with policies and standards.
+ Assist with audit preparation by gathering required system documentation.
Position Requirements
+ Associate's degree or bachelor's degree in information technology, telecommunications, a related field, or equivalent experience.
+ Minimum two years of applicable experience.
+ Certifications such as CompTIA A+, CompTIA Network+, or MDM platform certifications (Intune, JAMF) preferred.
+ Knowledge of telecommunications systems, mobile device platforms, and enterprise voice systems.
+ Familiarity with networking fundamentals, wireless technologies, and cellular networks.
+ Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
+ Effective written and verbal communication skills.
+ Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies.
