- Weekly meetings with other estimators to review & assign upcoming projects for bidding
- Review project documents, specifications and blueprints and produce accurate quantity take offs.
- Estimate project costs and provide accurate bids
- Prepare and send proposals using data from take-offs and other factors.
- Follow up on proposals for bid results, use results to adjust future pricing accordingly as market fluctuates.
- Weekly meetings with project manager, superintendent, and others to go over landed project details; help with keeping projects in originally bid scope and tracking what need to be priced as change orders if applicable.
- Collaborate with clients, architects, and subcontractors to ensure project specifications are met
- Develop project timelines and Schedules of Values for landed work.
- Maintain accurate project documentation, plans, specifications, etc.
- Proven experience as a commercial painting estimator or in a similar role
- Experience with On Screen Take Off and Quick Bid or other software based estimating programs.
- Familiarity with commercial painting techniques, materials, and equipment.
- Excellent self-management skills, with the ability to multitask and prioritize effectively.
- Proficient in estimating project costs and creating accurate bids
- Strong leadership abilities with the ability to effectively manage a team
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality workmanship
- Use of Microsoft Windows, Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, Word)
- Ability to self-start and finish tasks, multitask, and communicate with others.
- Proficient computer skills for project documentation and communication
- Able to think and work independently, follow through with assignments, and make decisions.
- Ability to learn new job skills as required.
- Good attitude and engagement with others, excited to work in field.
-Ability to drive to projects & visit potential project sites. (Company vehicle & fuel card provided)
