Job Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Estimator to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in the construction process by providing accurate cost estimates for various projects. This position requires a strong understanding of construction management and the ability to effectively negotiate with contractors and suppliers. The Estimator will collaborate closely with project managers and other stakeholders to ensure that all estimates align with project goals and budgets.

Duties

•

Analyze blueprints, specifications, and other documentation to prepare comprehensive cost estimates for construction projects.

•

Build detailed estimates that include labor, materials, equipment, and overhead costs.

•

Conduct site visits to assess project requirements and gather necessary data for accurate estimating.

•

Collaborate with project management teams to align estimates with project timelines and budgets.

•

Utilize Stack software for efficient construction estimating processes.

•

Monitor ongoing projects for cost control and provide updates on budget variances as needed.

•

Negotiate pricing with subcontractors and suppliers to achieve the best value for the company.

•

Maintain organized records of all estimates, contracts, and correspondence related to projects.

Skills

•

Strong knowledge of construction estimating principles and practices.

•

Proficiency in using HeavyBid or similar estimating software.

•

Excellent project management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.

•

Strong negotiation skills to secure favorable terms with contractors and suppliers.

•

Attention to detail and accuracy in cost calculations.

•

Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment while also being self-motivated.

•

Familiarity with cost control measures in construction projects is preferred.
