Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled Commercial Estimator to join our dynamic estimating team. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in commercial construction estimating of medium to large size projects ($7m – $14m), with a strong ability to analyze project specifications and develop accurate cost estimates. This role is essential in ensuring that projects are completed on time and within budget while maintaining high standards of quality.
Primary Responsibilities:
•Develop comprehensive estimates in accordance with common construction estimating practices and software for Civil and Concrete Commercial Construction projects
•Prepare timely and accurate bid estimates through quantity take-offs and total contract price runs using estimating software, spreadsheet software, hand calculations, etc.
•Analyzing drawings, specifications, and documents to prepare estimates.
•Properly and promptly submit bid estimates to the required parties, negotiate with them, when appropriate, and make prompt follow-up calls to them, when advisable
•Obtaining and reviewing subcontractor or vendor quotes.
•Assist in building and maintaining positive relationships with Developers, General Contractors, and Vendors.
•Attend all internal and external Pre-Construction Meetings for new projects to assist Project Management and Field Leadership in planning and phasing.
•Assure assigned projects are kept on schedule and provide solutions and paths forward on projects that have fallen behind schedule.
•Collaborate with Division manager to update the productivity report by providing weekly information on assigned estimates
Other Duties as Assigned
Required skills and qualifications:
•Bachelor's degree in construction management or related field; and/or
•Minimum of two years of experience successfully estimating Concrete, Earthwork, Underground Utilities, etc. for multidisciplinary projects
•Intermediate Knowledge in Concrete construction industry with proven ability to estimate multidisciplinary Project of over $7 Million
•Intermediate knowledge of relevant building code requirements and construction execution/sequencing
•Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
•Excellent ability to interpret technical drawings
•Ability to manage several Projects simultaneously

•Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
•Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment.
•This position involves work at a construction site where duties will be performed both indoors and outdoors.
•Overtime may be required to meet project deadlines.
•Proficient computer skills
•software Knowledge: Foundation, Smartsheet, ProEst, Trimble Business Center, Blue Beam, MS Projects, Excel.
Physical requirements:
•Stand, walk and sit; Using the hands to maneuver or feel objects, tools, or controls.
•Reach with your hands and arms; be able to speak and hear.
•See well, either naturally or correctly.
•You must be able to access and navigate all areas of the construction site in all types of weather.
•Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds at times.
