The Director of Commercial Operations is responsible for overseeing the commercial operations of the organization related to business opportunities, leading supporting teams including sales, marketing, legal, engineering, supply chain management, project management and service. This role will work closely with the Vice President of Sales or Business Development to develop and implement strategies to drive revenue growth, reduce company risk and improve customer satisfaction.
Essential duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Leads and manages the commercial operations activities for business opportunities including but not limited to equipment and services proposals, bid strategy, internal approval processes, risk assessments, contracts negotiations and project transfer.
- Leads supporting teams, including sales, marketing, legal, engineering, supply chain management, project management and service during the proposals and contract negotiations phases of the Bid Management Process.
- Reviews and approves cost inputs to cost calculations, identifying cost deviations from cost model and non—standard cost adders, provides inputs for commercial cost adders such as financial security, taxes and contingency.
- Leads the internal approval processes for firm proposals and contract signatures.
- Develops strong business relationships with existing and potential customers.
- Ensures high levels of customer satisfaction through effective customer service management.
- Develops and implements strategies to drive revenue growth and achieve sales targets.
- Independently pursues the creation of business opportunities through existing customer network.
- Supports the development and execution of marketing campaigns to promote products and services.
- Analysis market trends and competitor activity to identify opportunities for growth.
- Collaborates with other departments, such as product development and finance, to ensure alignment of commercial operations with overall business objectives.
- Monitors and reports on key performance indicators (KPIs) to track progress against goals.
- Stays informed about developments in the industry and market conditions that may impact the organization's commercial operations.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
