Director of Operations

Employer Partner Introduction: Soelect Inc. is a fast-growing, multi-patented clean technology startup located in Greensboro, NC. Soelect has developed an advanced lithium metal composite anode that, when combined with a solid-state or liquid electrolyte, significantly increases energy density, power and safety while also lowering manufacturing costs through our patented material design and proprietary processes.

Position Brief:

- Director of Operations (Lithium Metal Roll to roll) / Engineering Department

- Full time Position: 40hrs per week / On-site M-F / Greensboro, NC

- Salary range: Negotiable based on experience.

Qualification:

- 7+ years of hands-on and machine design experience in lithium metal and lithium-ion battery materials (production, process, quality, facilities), including electrolytes, metal anodes, and especially roll-to-roll, vision, or electrochemical deposition processes.

- Open to all educational backgrounds (HS diploma to PhD in Mechanical Engineering or related field).

- Background in automation, process engineering related and quality control to lithium metal.

- Having a mindset and execution to solve technical challenges/issues with fundamental and feasible approaches.

- Problem-solving attitude in the fast phase startup company.

Roles & Responsibilities:

- Responsible for leading pilot-scale production and engineering efforts, including machine design and operation.

- Lead and support process optimization and stabilization for lithium metal production, particularly in roll-to-roll and deposition operations.

- Lead and collaborate in equipment design, upgrades and maintenance in compliance with manufacturer specifications and operational safety standards

- Collaborate cross-functionally with team members to execute engineering projects, support production scale-up, and develop new technologies

- Lead/manage relevant joint-development program timeline to ensure program deliveries are on time and under budget.

- Interface with the Technical Staff daily to discuss present and future projects for updates.

- Lead/generate intellectual properties or trade secrets to protect the company’s technological developments and secure a competitive position.

- Write routine reports and correspondences.
