As Commercial Manager, you will support the full commercial lifecycle, from contract strategy through execution, by leading proposals, contract negotiations, and risk assessments. You will ensure alignment with business goals, customer needs, and compliance standards across a broad portfolio of product lines and agreements. You will collaborate across functions to implement winning strategies and ensure seamless execution from inquiry to order fulfillment.
As a Commercial Manager, you will be responsible for:
- Contract Ownership and Lifecycle Management - Draft, redline, negotiate, and execute a wide range of agreements including MSAs, Frame Agreements, Sales T&Cs, POs/Amendments, Channel Agreements, NDAs, and government flowdowns, cybersecurity, and confidentiality addenda. Maintain templates, track expirations, and coordinate with Legal and other functions.
- Risk Management and Governance - Drive risk identification, quantification, and mitigation across all deals. Lead risk reviews, document decisions, and ensure compliance with business’s Delegation of Authority. Govern terms and conditions, maintain clause libraries, deviation logs, and negotiation playbooks.
- Tender Strategy and Proposal Leadership - Secure winning bid strategies by coordinating inputs from engineering, product line, sourcing, and supply chain to align with tender requirements. Translate customer requirements into actionable strategies and support all commercial matters influencing bid outcomes, including the full completion and delivery of customer facing proposals.
- Deal Execution and Commercial Operations - Lead deal reviews including pricing, costing, and obligations. Draft and review amendments and alternative proposals. Use dashboards and tools to provide commercial intelligence and drive strategic decisions.
- Cross-Functional Enablement and Collaboration - Partner with functional leadership, coach Sales and Commercial Operations teams on risk guardrails and contract structures. Develop reference guides and checklists to support commercial enablement.
- Execution Support and Handover - Ensure clean handoffs from Inquiry to Order (ITO) through Order to Remittance (OTR), including contract summaries, risk matrices, obligation matrices, and document prime and sub-supplier flow-downs. Support complex change orders, claims, and contract notices.
To be successful in this role you will:
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in contract negotiation, including structuring contracts and proposals in B2B environments.
- Expert knowledge in understanding of contract law, negotiation techniques, and end-to-end commercial processes.
- Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage complex projects, with a track record of resolving internal and external negotiation challenges.
- Excellent project management, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines and communicate complex issues clearly.
- Highly organized, with strong schedule management and stakeholder relationship-building capabilities.
