Metal service centers provide customers with readily available aluminum, stainless steel, and other metals inventory and processing. Bayou Metal Supply & Manufacturing focuses on meeting customer needs of available metals in the marine and related industries. We provide inventory management services, and value-added metals processing, such as: precision router cutting with our three onsite CNC routers, cutting to length, plasma cutting, precision sawing and shearing, and more, before distributing these products to manufacturers and other end-users.
Bayou Metal Supply & Manufacturing is looking for a hardworking, dependable, and motivated individual to fill our CNC Programmer/Machinist. A programmer/machinist responsibilities setting up, writing new programs, editing programs, operating numerically controlled machines including lathes, mills, and drills.
Pay for this position is dependent upon experience.
Set up, write new programs, edit programs, be able to operate numerically controlled machines including lathes, mills, and drills.
- Follow written procedures and verbal instructions.
- Ability to produce quality parts to within .003” when required.
- Ability to work from drawings, DWG, DXF, SLD files etc.
- Ability to recognize and understand the functions of machine parameters with the ability to modify as needed.
- Knowledge of feeds and speeds and tooling for aluminum, carbon steel, stainless steel, titanium, etc.
- Ability to self-inspect throughout the part as well as upon completion.
- Ability to perform duties in accordance with company policies and procedures.
- Keep machines and work area clean and maintained.
- Highschool diploma or equivalent, Tech school, or actual work experience.
- 2 years CNC programing and operating experience.
- Basic problem-solving skills and detail oriented.
