Job Summary

The CNC Programmer plays a critical role in supporting Metalforms’ mission to deliver high-quality, value-driven products and services. This position is responsible for the skilled fabrication and assembly of piping, heat exchanger, and pressure vessel components using both manual and CNC machining equipment. The CNC Programmer ensures precision and quality in all machining operations, contributing to the reliability and performance of Metalforms’ products.

Tasks & Responsibilities

- Operate manual and CNC machinery to perform hole making, boring, and turning operations.

- Interpret engineering drawings and geometric dimensions to verify part measurements and tolerances.

- Use precision instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and depth gauges to ensure quality standards.

- Follow established machining procedures and safety protocols.

- Collaborate with Quality Assurance to ensure products meet specifications.

- Train and mentor team members on machining processes and safety practices.

- Maintain flexibility to work alternate shifts as needed.

Competencies

- Lift and maneuver heavy and awkward objects up to 50 lbs.

- Stand for extended periods (8–12 hours per shift).

- Work in environments with significant heat and humidity.

- Perform physical activities such as bending, stretching, stooping, kneeling, crawling, twisting, and reaching.

- Use rigging equipment and handle materials manually.

- Operate machinery with moving/rotating parts.

- Demonstrate good auditory and visual perception.

- CNC Programming experience preferred

- Min 5 years FANVC system

- Use hands to control tools and equipment including lathes, drill presses, saws, hammers, and general hand tools.

Education & Experience

- High school diploma or equivalent.

- Certified on 100% of manual machining equipment.

- Proficient in basic algebra and geometry.

- Strong problem-solving and communication skills.

- Self-motivated and dependable with a commitment to continuous improvement.
