Today's North Charleston Sewer District was originally established in 1972 by an Act of the South Carolina General Assembly. Previously, wastewater collection and treatment in the North Area were accomplished by a consolidated public service district. Now operating under a nine-member Commission, the District is committed to "...construction, operation, maintenance and enlargement of...sewers and sewage treatment and disposal...necessary to protect the health of those living in the District, and to provide for the collection, treatment and disposal of sewage and industrial effluent."
The North Charleston Sewer District is looking to add a Closed-Circuit Television Inspector (CCTV) position effective immediately.
· Inspects mainlines, lateral lines, and manholes with a camera for closed circuit television (CCTV).
· Uses Global Positioning System (GPS) unit to log sewer features such as clean-outs, manholes, sewer taps, etc.
· Receives and/or reviews various records and reports such as safety training, work orders, and maps.
· Prepares and/or processes various records and reports such as spare parts lists, pre-trips for vehicle, line conditions, and repair work orders.
· Refers to equipment manual, maps, drawings, policy and procedure manuals, codes, laws, regulations, publications, and reference texts, etc.
· Operates a variety of vehicles, machinery, and equipment such as inspection van, cleaning truck, vacuum equipment, lateral camera, electronic locators, etc.
· Must obtain a Class “D” Wastewater Collection System certification within 6 months of hire.
· Must obtain NASSCO PACP, LACP, and MACP certification within six (6) months of employment.
Work Schedule: Monday to Thursday 6:30 am to 5:00 pm
