Job Overview

We are seeking a friendly and detail-oriented Cashier to join our retail team. The ideal candidate will provide excellent customer service, handle transactions accurately, and maintain a welcoming shopping environment. Experience with POS systems and retail sales is preferred, along with strong communication skills and the ability to multitask effectively. This role offers an opportunity to develop sales and merchandising skills while ensuring a positive experience for our customers.

Responsibilities

- Operate POS systems efficiently to process transactions accurately and quickly

- Greet customers warmly and assist with product inquiries or demos when needed

- Handle cash, credit, and other payment methods with precision and security

- Maintain knowledge of store products to upsell items and promote sales opportunities

- Stock shelves, organize merchandise, and assist with inventory management

- Ensure the checkout area is clean, organized, and welcoming at all times

- Provide excellent customer service by addressing questions and resolving issues professionally

- Support merchandising efforts by arranging displays and participating in product promotions

- Follow phone etiquette standards when assisting customers over the phone or via online communication

Qualifications

- Previous cashiering experience in a retail or grocery store setting is preferred

- Strong basic math skills for handling cash transactions accurately

- Familiarity with POS systems and retail math concepts

- Excellent communication skills, including bilingual abilities are a plus

- Ability to perform upselling and suggestive selling techniques to enhance sales

- Experience in supervising or leading team members is a bonus but not required

- Knowledge of merchandising, stocking, and product demos is advantageous

- Demonstrated customer service skills with a friendly, professional attitude

- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $14.00 - $16.00 per hour
