Carlin UPT – 7 x 7 Experienced Underground Miner

The Carlin Underground Projects Team (UPT) is growing to be able to execute multiple high profile development projects across the Carlin Underground. The UPT group is a small team that is utilized to develop future mining zones and access for operating and new underground mines in Carlin. We are looking for experienced development miners to expand our high-performance team, to execute our next development project. This position requires miners to work in small collaborative teams to execute development projects safely and on cost and schedule.

- Take ownership in and accountability for maintaining safe work practices, safe workplaces, and safe operation and maintenance of all equipment

- Able to read cut sheets/maps and maintain line and grade

- Able to operate Two Boom Jumbo

- Able to operate 6yd, 9yd, and 12yd Loaders

- Able to understand different rock types and drilling/blasting procedures to minimize over-break

- Able to understand and follow ground support plans

- Able to operate mechanized bolter

- Able to operate shotcrete equipment

- Able to handle explosives and load rounds in a safe and productive manner

- Able to install utilities such as ventilation ducting, air/water/discharge pipe, & electrical cables to a complete and high standard

- Perform other duties as assigned from time to time at the discretion of the company

- Able to work within a team and solve issues before they become problems

Qualifications

- Two plus years of underground mining experience preferred

- Previous heavy equipment operation experience preferred

- Ability to work safely and effectively in an underground mining environment required

- Stable, consistent work history required

- Proactive safety and environmental track record required

- Ability to communicate with all mine operations personnel required

- Ability to work within a team environment, work closely with peers at all levels with a professional attitude required

- Ability to perform the essential functions of this job required

- The ability to work a rotating schedule of nights and days is an essential function of this role.
