Carlin UPT – 7 x 7 Experienced Underground Miner

The Carlin Underground Projects Team (UPT) is growing to be able to execute multiple high profile development projects across the Carlin Underground. The UPT group is a small team that is utilized to develop future mining zones and access for operating and new underground mines in Carlin. We are looking for experienced Mobile Mechanics to expand our high-performance team, to execute our next development project. This position requires Mobile Mechanics to work in small collaborative teams to execute development projects safely and on cost and schedule.

The UPT group offers a departmental specific incentive plan. Successful candidates will have the choice between the 5/4 or 7x7 rotating schedules . Business needs may dictate certain schedule changes if the need arises. The ideal candidate will possess a background in underground mining and metals.

Responsibilities:

- Take ownership in and accountability for maintaining safe work practices, safe workplaces, and safe operation and maintenance of all equipment

- Able to work within a team and solve issues before they become problems

- Shop Equipment, Tools, & Skills - Must be able to read, comprehend, interpret blueprints & instruction manuals.

- Hydraulic Systems - Must be able to troubleshoot and repair basic hydraulic systems, Identify & explain component functions on a hydraulic schematic.

- Maintains the ability to follow directions & to complete quality work at a high level.

- Consistently demonstrates the ability to learn and adapt to changing technologies and training

- Perform other duties as assigned

- Five (5) years of light/ heavy mechanical experience preferred.

Three (3) years of mining (surface or underground) experience preferred.

Qualifications:

- Strong computer skills preferred. (SAP, Cat ET, Cat SIS, Cummins Insite, Serdia)

- Demonstrated ability to be self-directed, team orientated and work with minimum supervision

- Strong Mechanical aptitude and work ethic required

- Stable, consistent work history required

- Proactive safety and environmental track record required

- Ability to communicate with all mine operations personnel required

- Ability to work within a team environment, work closely with peers at all levels with a professional attitude required

- Ability to perform the essential functions of this job required

- The ability to work a rotating schedule of nights and days is an essential function of this role.
