Roll Accountabilities
- Administer and maintain enterprise and asset-level models, assess model integrity, optimize performance, assist with options modeling and reconciliation, confirm modeling accuracy with guides, support options analysis, and production and financial parameters through modeling.
- Support operational, technical, strategic and financial analysis of value opportunities for the Copper World operation.
- Work closely with external consultants and internal SME’s to understand mining, metallurgical and support designs, including deep understanding of the technical factors leading to production, and Copper World capital and operating costs
- Develop detailed operating cost models
- Long Term Financial Modeling
- Develop appropriate models to support trade-off study financial evaluations and expansion opportunities
- Develop a deep understanding of Copper World project and identify opportunities for value enhancement
- Evaluate and assess government funding opportunities for Copper World project
- Will work closely with the Copper Word senior management team and interact cooperatively with Hudbay’s corporate staff in the Business Planning and Financial Planning
- University degree in mining, metallurgical, geological engineering or relevant discipline
- A financial degree would be considered a strong ancillary asset
- Financial Modeling – very proficient in MS Excel and the develop of mine financial models,
- Experience with monte-carlo simulation packages
- Reporting and Presentations: Proficient summarizing and presenting analyses in report and presentation formats
- Prior experience at mining operations in technical or financial roles would be a strong asset
- Technical Expertise: Possesses a strong technical background in mining engineering, geology, surveying and related fields, allowing for the effective design and implementation of mine plans.
- Excellent communication skills are required
