Star-Tex Propane, LLC, a part of the Edge Energy Group, is a retail propane distributor serving over 18,000 customers in Central Texas through offices in Waco, Burnet, Lampasas and Gatesville, Texas. Edge Energy Group is expanding through acquisitions in Texas and other states.
The primary purpose of the Business Development Manager is to drive profitable growth in the Central Texas market. This role is focused on expanding our commercial business and home construction contractor partnerships through strategic lead generation, proactive outreach, and strong relationship-building. While some residential sales will be required, the primary emphasis is on developing commercial accounts.
Beyond driving sales, this role is responsible for providing exceptional customer service, providing customers with value through innovative solutions and competitive pricing, and actively networking through industry events. Reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer, The Business Development Manager will play a key role in shaping our market presence and ensuring customer satisfaction.
- Drive sales of propane products and services through outbound cold calling efforts across various markets, including manufacturers, logistics companies, hardware/farm stores, RV parks, and agriculture.
- Identify and develop new business opportunities, including propane Autogas solutions for commercial fleets and school buses.
- Support customers with permitting, training, and seamless implementation of propane solutions.
- Collaborate with the operations team to coordinate installation and service projects.
- Prepare competitive quotes, present tailored sales proposals, and negotiate contracts.
- Manage and negotiate pricing, agreements, and delivery terms with new and existing customers
- Track sales activities and performance using HubSpot CRM.
- Manage customer relationships and maintain strong retention strategies, including overseeing receivables post-sale.
- Respond to and resolve customer inquiries and provide industry leading customer service, ensuring satisfaction and earning 5-star reviews.
- Uphold the highest standards of professionalism, integrity, and confidentiality.

- Proficient Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel
- Ability to work independently and effectively manage time

· High School Diploma: a bachelor’s degree in business, management, or a related field is preferred.
· A minimum of 3 years of B2B sales, business development, or account management experience, preferably in energy, logistics, or agriculture.
· Experience in propane, fuel, or energy industries is strongly preferred.
· Experience in outside sales to commercial, industrial and agricultural
· Willingness to travel within the Star Tex marketing area of Central Texas to meet customers and prospects.
· Valid driver’s license and an insurable driving record.
- A minimum of 3 years of experience within Microsoft Outlook, Word & Excell, Power Point is a plus
- Acquire Texas Railroad Commission certifications as needed
