- Lead Generation: Identify and develop new business opportunities for all lines of business through market research, cold calling and networking.
- Manage and strengthen relationships with existing clients, ensuring their needs are met and addressing concerns.
- Work to expand market share and cross-sell services to existing clients.
- Cold call and research potential customers to identify decision makers, develop rapport and set-up meetings.

- Market Analysis: Conduct market research to identify trends, competitor activities and customer needs to from the business strategies. In addition, collect customer intelligence, insights, and work as part of an integrated team to create new business opportunities.
- Coordinate business opportunities, contacts and services across the Business Development Team.
- Protect organization's value by keeping information confidential and current in Customer Relationship Management tool.
- Participate as part of an account management team with existing customers.
- Assist in Scheduling subject matter expert meetings for prospective clients.
- Assist with developing account management plans for existing clients.
- Participate and actively work industry functions, such as association events and conferences, to cultivate new business opportunities and contacts.
- Provide administrative assistance to the business development team, including maintaining current client database.
- Submit weekly progress reports and ensure data is accurate; forecast sales targets and ensure they are met; track and record activity on accounts and contacts to meet targets.

- Bachelor‘s degree in Business or Marketing is preferred.
- Minimum of 2 -4 years professional work experience in business development or similar role.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and comfortable presenting to clients.
- Excellent organizational and analytical skills and ability to manage multiple tasks through prioritization and execution.
- Network of existing customer contacts and relationships within the energy upstream and/or midstream sector.
- Team player with a demonstrated ability to work in a diverse environment.
- Highly motivated to make calls, set up meetings and progress opportunities (as well as customer relationships) without daily oversight.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to evaluate market trends and performance metrics.
- Proficiency with office computer equipment and software, including but not limited to Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and various financial reporting packages.
- Develop market intelligence framework to assess competitor capabilities and customer future technology needs.
- Experience in developing, valuing and prioritizing multi-product opportunity pipelines.
Internal – Work is normally performed in a climate-controlled environment.
External – Work requires 30% travel outside of the office, including meetings with customers, attending and working industry events, etc.
Work involves standing and walking for potentially extended periods of time, but most duties are performed from a seated position. Work may include occasional pushing, pulling or carrying objects weighing up to 25 pounds such as files and documents. Work normally requires finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination to operate a computer keyboard at moderate skill level. Work will include occasional long hours of travel and with days/evenings away from the home base during customer visits. Work will likely require extended hours to ensure project and reporting deadlines are met.
Internal - Frequent contact with account managers, support personnel, employees and executive management team.
External – Frequent contact with customers, vendors, service providers and prospective clients.
