- Makes scheduled inspections and determines work required for routine upkeep of buildings, equipment, and fixtures. Checks elevators for proper operation; arranges for service as necessary. Performs tests and makes adjustments as necessary for the proper operation of building equipment; makes weekly test of emergency generating equipment.
- Does skilled mechanical work including installation, removal, operation, and maintenance of heating, air conditioning, lighting, communications, and plumbing systems involving but not limited to such components as fans, motors, compressors, pumps, fixtures, and wiring. Reads and interprets blueprints of building facilities and systems.
- Performs general maintenance activities such as changing lights and ballasts; installing lighting fixtures; fire system, painting, repairing, moving office equipment and furniture; checking and maintaining circuit breakers; replacing floor covering; repairing or replacing washroom fixtures; etc. Assists in the removal of snow and ice from sidewalks, driveways, and parking areas, etc. as assigned.
- Physical security duties. Badging, security monitoring, physical material inspection (incoming mail).
- Keeps up-to-date records of building facilities and equipment including inspections and repair work done; provides building information to outside contractors and jobbers as required.
What You Need To Be Successful In This Role
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Prior experience with Building / Facilities Maintenance, Minor Electrical and HVAC.
- HVAC License or certifications a plus.
