Job Summary/Objective
This position requires a strong technical background in CNC machine repair and the ability to troubleshoot complex problems quickly and accurately. The ideal candidate should also have excellent communication skills and the ability to work independently.
Essential Functions
- Perform unsupervised Preventive Maintenance on all machine types.
- Perform complex unsupervised mechanical repairs on machines, pumps, valves, gears, belts, etc. utilizing a print for reference.
- Perform complex unsupervised electrical repairs on equipment utilizing an electrical print for reference and proper lockout/tag-out procedures.
- Perform complex hydraulic and pneumatic repairs utilizing a print for reference.
- Cleans up repair work sites to pre-repair state, ensuring all maintenance tools, supplies, and parts are removed and returned to designated maintenance areas.
- Performs 5S to maintenance department areas.
- Complies with all Company Safety requirements for maintenance personnel as well as production departments’ safety requirements while in the area.
- Enters the Company’s computer data base maintenance work performed against maintenance work orders and the department’s PM data program.
- Maintain 6S condition of the Maintenance department and other work sites performing maintenance work.
- Apply Lean Manufacturing/Continuous Improvement methods and tools to make work process improvements.
- Observe and apply department and company Safety policies and procedures.
- Working knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic prints.
- Working knowledge of electrical prints.
- Working knowledge of mechanical prints.
- Capable of using measuring tools such as calipers and micrometer.
- Capable of using Lathe, mill, welder, plasma cutter, brake, etc
- Knowledge of Quality ISO procedures and Lean Standard Work
- Exposure to machine oil and fluids.
- Manufacturing / shop environment with large power equipment cutting metal.
- Medium to heavy exposure to various machining fluids.
- Lifting and/or moving objects weighing up to 75 or more pounds.
- Working with and around sharp metal chips.
- May operate various power hand tools like drills, grinders, etc.
- Many hours standing/walking involved (10+)- 2 years of technical maintenance experience including mostly lathe machine mechanical, some electrical, hydraulics and pneumatics.
