Bit Service Company Ltd. is a Saskatchewan manufacturer and distributor of mining products and equipment, founded in 1965.
Locally owned and operated, employing professionals between Esterhazy and our head office in Saskatoon, we have grown to provide full design, fabrication and repair of cutting assemblies for underground mining and tunnelling equipment, including cutting optimization and wear reduction.
Reporting to the Production Manager, the Braze Line Operator’s primary role is to perform all new manufacturing of mining cutting products.
· Operates braze line at optimal level to meet or exceed established daily production rates that are assigned by shop orders.
· Set up and adjust machinery to ensure proper alignment and functioning.
· Monitor production processes and troubleshoot any issues to maintain efficiency and quality.
· Conduct regular ispections of finished products to ensure they meet specifications.
· Maintain detailed production logs and report any diescrepencies to management.
· Implement and follow safety protocols to ensure a safe working environment.
· Collaborate with team members to optimize production processes and improve overall efficiency.
· Use ERP systems and Microsoft Office tools to track produciton and inventory.
· Perform daily required preventative maintenance on associated equipment.
· Inspect tools for runout using gauges, indicators and other inspection tools
· Read and interpret CAD prints, drawing and work instructions.
· Completion of a machinist apprenticeship or technical school training is preferred.
· Previous experience in a manufacturing or machine shop environment.
· Knowledge of, and experience with, CNC controls, precision cutting tools and measuring instruments.
· Problem-solving mindset with a focus on continuous improvement.
· Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.
· Strong comprehension of written and spoken instructions, with the ability to communicate clearly with supervisors and colleague.
· Previous experience brazing carbide to steel an asset.
· Familiarity with quality standards and inspection processes.
· Experience with power tools and hand tools
