Braze Operator

Successful, family-owned Heat Treating & Brazing Business in Hayward looking for a dependable, friendly, energetic, motivated individual with experience in brazing!

Responsibilities and Duties:

- Assist with operation, control and monitoring of brazing furnaces, welders, and related equipment.

- Prepare and assemble customer-supplied parts for brazing, including cleaning, applying braze alloy, and interpreting shop orders and technical drawings.

- Load and unload furnaces, fixtures, weights, etc.

- Follow all written instructions provided in shop orders and customer documentation.

- Perform post-braze inspections, including visual checks and leak testing using helium leak detectors or hydrostatic testing equipment.

- Report any irregularities, defects, or non-conformities to the supervisor or appropriate personnel.

- Adhere to safety protocols and maintain a clean, organized work area.

- Assist with routine simple maintenance of equipment as needed.

Qualifications & Requirements:

- Technical Aptitude: 2-3 years experience and knowledge in the fundamentals of brazing, metallurgy, temperature control, and testing procedures.

- Attention to Detail: Must be precise and able to perform delicate hand assembly tasks.

- Blueprint Reading: Willingness and ability to learn to read and interpret technical blueprints.

- Communication: Effective verbal and written communication skills required.

- Physical Requirements: Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. regularly; frequent bending, climbing, stooping, and standing required.

- Work Environment: Exposure to heat, dust, noise, humidity, and fumes is common.

- Work Ethic: Must be punctual, follow instructions, work well in a team, adhere to workplace rules, and respond positively to feedback.

- Forklift Certification: Must be able to obtain and maintain a forklift operator certification, with training available in-house.

- The Ideal Candidate is very mechanically inclined.

- Must undergo a post-offer 7 panel DRUG SCREEN.
