The Assembly Manager reports to the Recycle and Assembly Manager and is responsible for directing the activities of the Centrifuge Assembly Teams and assists in the development and execution of the assembly program. This includes activities such as ensuring proper receipt, storage and handling, and on-site transportation of centrifuges; machine installation and pump down; integrated system testing; provide oversight in areas of the BOP Operations and Facility Surveillances; future Construction Work in Process (CWIP)/Waste Disposition; and Classified Equipment Control & Centrifuge Disposition. The Assembly Manager is responsible for facility surveillances; CWIP and waste disposition, classified equipment control, centrifuge assembly/storage, transport, disassembly and disposition of centrifuges; shift operations; accountable property assessment, inventory, and segregation; and caretaker operations. The Assembly Manager is responsible for directing the activities of the Assembly Operations personnel to accomplish these objectives and includes activities such as ensuring the safe operation of the plant utilities operations and the future disassembly, decommissioning, and disposition of materials.
The Assembly Manager has the authority to stop work and/or shut down operations in any part of the operation for which he/she has responsibility. If such authority is exercised, the Recycle and Assembly Manager must concur with restart of shutdown operations. This position has the authority to provide leadership, planning and direction for activities necessary to conduct business to meet regulatory requirements and to support the company mission.
- Accountable for the safety of all authorized plant activities performed by personnel within their assigned area. This position requires familiarity with, and adherence to, the requirements of the plant safety and health program (Industrial Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Radiation Protection, Safety Analysis, Nuclear Criticality Safety, and OSHA programs) to ensure protection of employees and the public from the effects of accidents involving radiological, chemical, electrical, or other physical hazards associated with plant activities.
- Responsible for the assignment, scheduling, and training of personnel in centrifuge assembly/disassembly/select repair, equipment monitoring, data collection, and supporting systems in accordance with approved procedures.
- Monitors work in assigned areas for compliance with procedures and directs operations using approved procedures.
- Approves work permits as required.
- Ensure qualified personnel are available to complete the assigned work.
- Manage scheduling of integrated system testing and execution of test plans and coordinates work activities with other groups (service and construction).
- Accountable for material, parts and supplies under their jurisdiction.
- Performs Change Evaluations and reviews as needed.
- Responsible for safe and efficient work area and work practices.
- Performs routine walk-through inspections of assigned areas and documents and provides resolutions for identified deficiencies.
- Assists in the development of the assembly program and validation of test plans, procedures and training material.
- Develops, reviews, and validates administrative, procedural, and technical documents, e.g., schematics, operating procedures, process control narratives, statement of work, system requirement documents, failure mode evaluation analysis, technical manual review, design criteria.
- Ensures the workforce includes and is conducive to the participation of individuals with diverse ethnic backgrounds, both genders, including those with and without disabilities.
- Enforces and adheres to company policies, procedures, code of conduct, security and environmental and safety program requirements.
- Responsible for meeting Nuclear Material Control and Accountability requirements for assigned areas.

- Associate degree in Manufacturing/Chemical/Engineering or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Five (5) years of industrial/chemical/nuclear plant operations, maintenance, engineering, or support experience.
- Previous supervisory/leadership experience or completion of a supervisory training course.
- Must possess or be able to obtain and maintain a DOE “Q” level security clearance.
- Currently possess a “Q” level security clearance
- Previous managerial experience in industrial/chemical/nuclear plant operations, maintenance, engineering or support.
Bachelor’s degree in manufacturing/chemical/engineering or related field.
