National Grid is hiring an Analyst, Gas Planning and Design Engineering for our Data Analytics & Engineering Controls department in Syracuse, NY.
Job Purpose
This position will review, analyze, digitize, and archive natural gas construction records for Gas Asset Management & Engineering projects. This includes analyzing records for assets such as transmission pipelines, regulator stations, and LNG/CNG facilities.
The key objective of this position is to process, analyze, and properly archive records related to asset attribute data, assessment data, and installation records. Ultimately, this role will support the adherence to PHMSA guidelines for Traceable, Verifiable, and Complete (TVC) records to ensure that National Grid is running a safe and reliable gas network and meeting code requirements.
Key Accountabilities
- Digitize and catalog paper and digital records to ensure proper upload into document repository
- Ensure paper records are organized, filed, and secured in various Records Centers
- Analyze construction documentation such as As-Built Drawings, Weld Maps, Field Survey, Pressure Tests, etc. to ensure records are traceable, verifiable and complete (TVC) for all installed components
- Create reports summarizing QA/QC analysis findings along with documenting data/record gaps and work to close gaps with appropriate teams within National Grid
- Assist in ensuring asset registers such as ArcGIS are properly updated with the asset data from analyzed TVC records
- Bachelor’s Degree
- Detail oriented critical thinker with strong organizational skills
- Knowledge of gas utility assets and TVC records is strongly preferred
- Knowledge of current trends within the gas utility industry and developments in legislation or regulation related to PHMSA Pipeline rules, 49CFR192 DOT Pipeline Codes, ASME/ANSI B31.8 Code preferred
- Valid driver’s license required
