Job Description AltaGas – Project Manager

The Project Manager is accountable for coordinating cross-functional resources, stakeholder engagement, and leadership alignment through AltaGas’ Project Delivery Model (PDM) Gate 3 approval and beyond, ensuring projects are delivered in alignment with AltaGas’ Core Values.

In this role, you will drive disciplined planning, maintain executive and stakeholder confidence, and lead complex, multi-disciplinary teams to deliver safe, reliable, high-value assets that support long-term business strategy and responsible access to global energy markets.
You will:
- Lead the delivery of large, complex energy infrastructure projects from post-feasibility through execution and close-out, in alignment with AltaGas’ Project Delivery Model and Core Values
- Own overall project governance, serving as the single point of accountability for scope, cost, schedule, quality, and safety performance
- Build, lead, and coordinate multi-disciplinary internal teams, contractors, and consultants across engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning
- Champion a safety-first culture across all project phases, ensuring contractor compliance and high standards in design, fabrication, and construction
- Oversee front-end engineering and execution planning, ensuring technical solutions are de-risked, constructible, and aligned with operational requirements
- Manage commercial and contractual relationships, including procurement strategy, contractor performance, and cost control
- Proactively manage project risks, changes, and interfaces, providing clear reporting, mitigation strategies, and recommendations to senior leadership
- Engage and manage a broad range of stakeholders, including operations, regulators, Indigenous and landowner groups, and internal corporate functions
- Registered Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) in Alberta and/or British Columbia, with a relevant scope of practice
- 10+ years of project management experience delivering large-scale oil and/or gas infrastructure projects; midstream experience preferred- Demonstrated experience progressing projects through front-end development (concept, feasibility, FEED) using a gated delivery model, with additional experience in execution, commissioning, and handover to operations
- Proven track record of delivering projects across a range of sizes on time and within approved budgets
- Experience leading and coordinating multi-disciplinary teams and managing complex internal and external stakeholder environments
- Strong understanding of applicable regulatory, safety, and performance standards in Alberta and British Columbia
- Proficiency with project controls and scheduling tools (Primavera or equivalent) and strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel to project sites as required
