Shipping Administrator
The Mack Iron Works Company, established in 1901, is a family-owned metal fabrication / manufacturing small business committed to maintaining employee safety, operating with environmental sustainability, and achieving customer satisfaction. We are a team-oriented organization internationally serving the petrochemical, energy and industrial gas-producing industries with pipeline strainers and flow control devices. We also serve the regional construction industry with miscellaneous and light architectural items.
The Mack Iron Works Company is seeking to hire a Shipping Administrator that exceeds in professionalism, punctuality, attention to detail and has a great attitude. This position holds many responsibilities and will be a long-term position. It is a fast-paced culture and will require constant attention to detail. Some of the daily tasks include, but are not limited to:
Essential duties and responsibilities
•Making shipping arrangements for outbound shipments for both LTL and small package.
•Follow up, monitor and complete custom to order project files and standard operation files.
•Determine shipping priorities, work assignments and shipping methods required to meet shipping and receiving schedules.
•Assist team members and/or customers with shipping inquiries.
· Responsible for the preparation of domestic and international shipping documents and other required paperwork required for shipments.
•Files various paperwork as required.
•Coordinates and provides support with customers and/or other departments to resolve shipping issues and matters
•Coordinate with freight forwarders to arrange ocean and air shipping
•We are a team at Mack Iron so additional duties will include but are not limited to order entry, invoicing, answering phones and any other tasks you are asked to do.
Requirements
· High school diploma or equivalent
•Must demonstrate outstanding organizational skills
•Accurate and clear written communication skills
•Confident and professional verbal communication skills
•Ability to prioritize multiple time-sensitive tasks.
•Multi-tasking with strong attention to detail.
•Verify all actions meet established checks and processes
•Ability to be proactive, confident and react quickly in a fast-paced environment
•Proficient computer skills
•The ability to perform within a changing workload and/or priorities and meet order schedules with quality results
Preferred knowledge, skills, and abilities
· Experience in transportation/logistics
•Domestic and Export shipments – finding competitive rates, documentation, booking arrangements and tracking
•Knowledge of domestic and international shipping regulations
