The starting hourly rate for this position is $15.30 an hour.

Greets and receives payments from the general public.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Works as a cashier receiving utility payments, balancing cash drawer daily. Balances and posts daily receipts for accounts receivable and prepares daily bank deposits; reconciles deposits with computer printout; prepares payment corrections and adjustments as needed for inaccurate payments.
Greets the public in person, and responds to questions and requests referring complex issues to the appropriate person, giving directions, and taking messages where appropriate.
Issues work requests to reconnect customer's service when the service has been disconnected for non-payment and bills on fee as needed.
Generates customer letters to send customers when there are issues with customers' payments.
Opens, scans, and inputs check information for a high volume of mail payments received daily.
Create and transmit check image letters to the bank daily.
Download files from other sources with payment information and create files to apply payments to customer's accounts.
Other duties as assigned by the department.
High school diploma or equivalent, with courses in keyboarding and bookkeeping; previous training on computer, 10-key (touch), telephone systems, and other general office equipment. Bilingual is a plus.(Educational documentation will be required upon offer of employment.)
