Job Summary
The Accounts Payable Specialist is responsible for processing Accounts Payable to ensure timely review and accurate data entry. Duties include but are not limited to compiling amounts owed by Strike to vendors and suppliers, processing employee expense reports, preparing payments by gathering purchase orders and other needed documentation, and interfacing with vendors to ensure accuracy of invoices. The Accounts Payable Specialist will also code invoices to the appropriate general ledger account and will assist the AP Manager with month-end close.
Primary Job Function
- Compile amounts owed by the company to vendors, suppliers, or other organizations/individuals.
- Review coding of expenses to the appropriate general ledger account based on generally accepted accounting principles.
- Gather purchase orders, and other documentation to prepare payments.
- Interface with vendors to ensure accuracy of invoices, supporting documentation, and financial reporting.
- Code invoices to appropriate general ledger account based on generally accepted accounting principles.
- Conducts and maintains timely reconciliations of revenue transactions and other accounts as needed.
- Manage company purchasing cards by processing expense reports and managing receipts for all employees assigned an expense card.
- Interface with employees to ensure accuracy of receipts and supporting documentation.
- Review company purchases and receipts for all employees assigned a purchasing card.
- Interface with employee cardholders to ensure accuracy of receipts and supporting documentation.
- Review and approve vouchers for payment.
- Support the AP Manager with month-end close.
- Assist AP Manager with a variety of projects when requested and perform other duties as assigned.- 2+ years of experience in the field or in a related area.
- Proficient in Microsoft products, particularly Excel.
- Ability to utilize basic mathematical concepts (add, subtract, multiple, percentages, etc.).
- Exercise sound judgment, be well organized, and have good oral and written communications skills.
- Accuracy, timeliness, problem-solving skills, and ability to work effectively with vendors, employees and managers.
- Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
- Utilizes organizational skills with good attention to detail and emphasis on quality.
