The Accounting Specialist supports the financial operations of the site by performing routine accounting tasks, including journal entries, reconciliations, and assisting with financial reporting. This role works closely with the Site Controller and other departments to ensure accurate and timely financial data. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and eager to grow within the accounting function.
- Assist with preparing journal entries and account reconciliations.
- Support the month-end close process by gathering and organizing financial data.
- Maintain accurate records of capital project spending and commitments.
- Assist in preparing cost variance reports and basic financial summaries.
- Help compile data for budgeting and forecasting processes.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
Support internal and external audits by providing requested documentation.
- Basic understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Willingness to learn and take initiative.
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.
- 1–3 years of accounting or finance experience.
- Experience with SAP or similar ERP systems is a plus.
