Job Summary:
The Accounting Specialist supports The DeSoto Group’s financial operations through accurate transaction processing, account reconciliations, and reporting. This role is critical to ensuring financial accuracy, compliance, and efficiency across the organization.
· Review and process vendor invoices, ensuring proper coding and approvals.
· Match invoices to purchase orders and prepare payments in a timely manner.
· Maintain positive vendor relationships and address inquiries or discrepancies.
· Generate and issue customer invoices and statements.
· Apply incoming payments and reconcile customer accounts.
· Monitor outstanding balances and follow up as needed.
· Assist with month-end and year-end close processes.
· Assist in the preparation of financial statements including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
· Generate and distribute internal reports for leadership review.
· Ensure strict compliance with financial regulations, GAAP standards, and tax requirements.
· Assist in the preparation of tax filings and support external audits.
· Work with internal teams to resolve payment, invoice, and reporting issues.
· Support the accounting team in continuous improvement efforts.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 3–5 years of experience in accounting or finance.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial regulations.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, or similar).
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills (e.g., formulas, pivot tables, lookups).
- High attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational skills.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines independently.
- Full-time, onsite in Clermont, Florida
- Standard hours: 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM
