The Role
Cameco has an excellent opportunity for an experienced professional to join a highly engaged and skilled department in support of the corporation’s global tax function. Working within a group of professionals, you will undertake various types of analytical and compliance activities and collaborate with various stakeholders and external advisors. We are looking for a team player with excellent analytical, organizational and communication skills to join this dynamic group. This is an excellent career opportunity to specialize in the area of corporate taxation.
In This Role, You Will
- Partner with various departments and provide tax expertise.
- Contribute to the strategic planning, forecasting and budgeting of the various Cameco entities.
- Compile, analyze, report and defend royalty and tax information for internal and external disclosures.
- Support on-going continuous improvement initiatives and projects as required, including proactively participating in the identification and development of efficient, value-added processes.
- Canadian Chartered Professional Accounting (CPA) designation;
- bachelor’s degree in commerce, accounting, finance, or a related field;
- five to 10 years of relevant work experience, with a focus on Canadian tax compliance;
- knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS);
- completion or enrollment in the CPA Canada in-depth tax course; and
- ability to communicate effectively with a variety of internal and external stakeholders.
- ability to prioritize assignments, manage multiple deadlines and organize work independently;
- experience in a large multi-national enterprise with a tax provision component or equivalent;
- experience using ERP software (SAP);
- high level of proficiency in Microsoft Excel; and
- results-oriented, proactive, with a mindset of continuous improvement.
