Overview: The Accountant is responsible for performing general accounting duties with an emphasis in job cost accounting. Responsibilities:
•Performs general cost accounting and other related duties in the accounting department including data and journal entries.
•Prepares periodic (monthly) balance sheets, income statements, and profit and loss statements.
•Reconciles bank accounts at least monthly, verifies deposits, and addresses inquiries from banks.
•Reconciles customer accounts.
•Verifies payment of invoices associated with accounts payable and ensures payments are charged to the appropriate accounts.
•Provides outside auditors with assistance; gathers necessary account information and documents to perform annual audit.
•Performs other related duties as assigned including filing, scanning and record keeping.
•Administrator of the following duties; credit applications, contracts, performance and payment bonds, certificate of insurances, licenses.
Qualifications:
•Bachelor�s degree in Accounting.
•Knowledge of general financial accounting.
•Understanding of and ability to adhere to generally accepted accounting principles.
•Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
•Written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work well with others and follow supervisory instructions in a corporate environment.
•Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.
•Effective verbal and written communication skills.
•Detail-oriented and willing to tackle various ongoing projects in a fast-paced environment.
•Versed in the industry and the Company�s competitors.
•Ability to multitask and perform duties outside of the scope of work when necessary.
•Remaining in a stationary position, often standing or sitting for prolonged periods
•Repeating motions that may include the wrists, hands and/or fingers
•Light work that includes adjusting and/or moving objects up to 20 pounds
•0-5% of the time will be spent traveling to the job site(s)/office locations.
