About This Job

We are seeking a detail-oriented Accountant to join our team at From the Ground Up, a growing landscape design and maintenance company. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing day-to-day financial operations, preparing financial reports, and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations. This role is critical to maintaining accurate financial records, supporting budgeting efforts, and providing insights that guide business decisions.

Key Responsibilities:

•

Maintain accurate financial records, ledgers, and accounts for company transactions

•

Manage accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely payments and collections

•

Process related taxes in compliance with local, state, and federal laws

•

Assist with reconciling bank statements and general ledger accounts monthly

•

Assist with financial statements, reports, and budgets for internal use and external stakeholders

•

Monitor and manage job costing and project profitability tracking

•

Ensure compliance with GAAP and regulatory requirements

•

Assist with tax preparation and liaise with external accountants or auditors as needed

•

Maintain and improve accounting processes and systems

•

Support operational staff with job costing, invoicing, and financial planning

•

Maintain inventory for purchases and withdrawals, calculation of prices and adjusting entries

Qualifications:

•

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field or Associate degree and 2+ years of accounting experience or equivalent work experience. (experience in the construction or landscaping industry preferred)

•

Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills

•

Proficiency with accounting software (QuickBooks experience preferred)

•

Experience with Customer Relationship Management Software (CRM)

•

Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel and financial reporting tools

•

Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities

•

Strong communication skills and the ability to work with cross-functional teams
