The Accountant will oversee and conduct financial operations and reporting. As a strong communicator and skilled financial analyst, this position will streamline AP, AR, budgeting and financial reporting processes. The accountant will also produce thorough financial-status reports for ownership to help improve operational efficiency and aid in continued growth.
Responsibilities:
•Support month end closing process
•Prepare monthly financial statements
•Assign account numbers to Chart of Accounts
•Allocate expenses between companies, locations and departments
•Manage fixed assets and depreciation schedules
•Develop amortization schedules
•Manage bank deposits, report weekly cash balances and A/R balances
•Reconcile bank statements
•Manage general ledger and perform all journal entries including accruals
•Perform all account reconciliations, month and year end closing
•Support internal and external audits
•Provide year end accounting information to CPA
•Provide status of financial condition by collecting, interpreting and reporting financial data
•Prepare special reports by collecting, analyzing and summarizing information and trends.
•Maintain an orderly accounting filing system
•Maintain a system of controls over accounting transactions
•Prepare and submit tax filings
Qualifications:
•Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance, preferred
•Minimum 5-10 years of experience in Construction accounting/finance
•Sage 300 experience preferred
•Experience in working with multiple legal entities
•Experience with financial reporting requirements
•Excellent oral and written communication skills
•Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion
•Analytical & problem-solving skills & ability to multitask
Work Environment/Physical Requirements:
•Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
•Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
•Walk, bend, kneel, lift, stretch and sit
•Saturday work as dictated by scheduling.
•Must be able to wear a hard hat, safety vest, safety glasses and safety-toed boots when visiting a job site.
