Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Construction Accountant to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess strong financial acumen and a solid understanding of accounting principles. This role is critical in ensuring the accuracy of financial reporting and compliance with regulatory standards. The Construction Accountant will be responsible for managing various accounting tasks, including financial statement preparation, payroll processing, and tax compliance.
Responsibilities
•Prepare and maintain accurate financial statements in accordance with GAAP standards.
•Perform double entry bookkeeping to ensure all transactions are recorded accurately.
•Manage payroll processing, ensuring timely and accurate payment to employees.
•Assist in tax preparation and compliance, including filing necessary documentation.
•Utilize accounting software such as Quickbooks and Procure for efficient financial management.
•Provide mentorship to junior staff members, fostering their professional development.
•Conduct regular audits of financial data to identify discrepancies and implement corrective actions.
•Collaborate with public accounting firms during audits and tax preparations as needed.
Requirements
•Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance is preferred.
•Proven experience in public accounting or a similar role is highly desirable.
•Strong knowledge of GAAP principles and financial regulations.
•Proficiency in accounting software.
•Excellent skills in financial statement preparation and analysis.
•Familiarity with payroll systems and tax regulations is essential.
•Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills are a must.
•10 years construction accounting experience preferred
