Last Step Recycling, LLC is a leading manufacturing processor of Auto Shredded Residue (ASR) material with a strong reputation for quality, innovation, and operational excellence. We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Accountant to join our finance team and support the financial health of our growing organization.
The Accountant will be responsible for performing a wide range of accounting tasks to include general ledger maintenance, cost accounting, financial reporting, and budgeting support. The ideal candidate should have experience in a manufacturing environment and a solid understanding of inventory accounting, cost analysis, and production-related financial processes.
- Support with the full cycle accounting process, including:
- General ledger maintenance
- Journal entries
- Accruals, prepaids, and reconciliations
- Inventory
- Intercompany transactions (if applicable)
- Assist with the monthly, quarterly, and annual closing processes to ensure timely and accurate reporting
- Manage or coordinate AP/AR, payroll, and expense management functions to include data entry, reconciliation, and payment processing
- Maintain fixed asset records and depreciation schedules
- Collaborate with production, operations, and other departments to ensure accurate financial data
- Accurately enter production data and hand-sort information
- Support budgeting and forecasting processes
- Manage and analyze cost accounting data, including standard costs, variances, and margin analysis
- Track and reconcile inventory transactions, including raw materials, work-in-progress, and finished goods
- Optimize, maintain, and recommend improvements to NetSuite and processes to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and scalability
- Assist in maintaining and enforcing internal controls to safeguard assets and ensure GAAP compliance
- Minimum of an Associate’s degree in Business
- 2–3 years of accounting experience, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial environment
- Strong understanding of accounts payable and account reconciliation
- Proficient in accounting software (e.g., NetSuite, SAP, Oracle, QuickBooks, or similar ERP systems)
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines
- In-person 5 days per week for the first 90 days
- After the probationary period, a hybrid schedule with 3 days in office
- Occasional visits to production areas
- Standard working hours are 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with some flexibility during month-end or year-end closing periods- Competitive salary and benefits package
