Accountant

Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accountant to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of accounting principles and practices, including GAAP, and will be responsible for maintaining financial records, preparing financial statements, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements. This role requires proficiency in various accounting software and a commitment to accuracy in financial reporting.

Duties

- Prepare and maintain accurate financial statements and reports in accordance with GAAP.

- Perform account reconciliations, including balance sheet reconciliation and general ledger reconciliation.

- Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, ensuring timely payments and collections.

- Conduct financial analysis, including cash flow analysis and budgeting.

- Oversee payroll processing and ensure compliance with tax regulations.

- Assist in the preparation of regulatory reports and audits.

- Mentor junior accounting staff and provide guidance on accounting best practices.

- Utilize accounting software such as QuickBooks, Quicken, PeopleSoft, Sage, Xero, or similar tools for efficient financial management.

- Prepare journal entries and maintain accurate records of debits and credits.

- Analyze financial data to support corporate finance initiatives and decision-making processes.

Skills

- Strong knowledge of SOX compliance, LIHTC regulations, governmental accounting, non-profit accounting, public accounting, securities law, wills, trusts & estate law.

- Proficient in technical accounting concepts including accrual accounting and double entry bookkeeping.

- Excellent financial report writing skills with the ability to interpret complex financial information effectively.

- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel for data analysis and reporting purposes.

- Demonstrated ability in financial management practices including forecasting, budgeting, and cash flow management.

- Experience with auditing processes and familiarity with private equity environments is a plus.

Pay: $65,695.81 - $79,117.54 per year
