Job Title: Accounts Payable Clerk

Job Overview:

We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Accounts Payable Clerk to join our team in the fuel industry. This position will be responsible for ensuring timely and accurate processing of accounts payable transactions. A successful candidate will have experience in accounting, familiarity with Sage accounting software, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

- Process and verify invoices and purchase orders in a timely manner.

- Ensure accuracy and completeness of all accounts payable documentation.

- Reconcile accounts payable to vendor statements to identify and resolve discrepancies.

- Prepare weekly and monthly payment runs, ensuring compliance with company policies.

- Maintain accurate records of accounts payable transactions.

- Communicate with vendors to resolve billing issues and ensure accurate payment processing.

- Assist with month-end closing procedures, including reconciling accounts and preparing reports.

- Ensure compliance with company accounting policies, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.

- Perform other related duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications:

- High school diploma or equivalent (Associate's degree in Accounting or related field preferred).

- Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounts payable, preferably in the fuel industry.

- Strong knowledge of accounts payable processes and general accounting principles.

- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other office applications.

- Experience with Sage accounting software is a plus.

- Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to multitask.

- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.

- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

- Knowledge of fuel industry-specific accounting practices is a plus.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $20.00 - $23.00 per hour
