The Sales Clerk provides administrative and customer service support to the sales department. This role involves direct customer communication, processing orders, maintaining accurate records, and supporting the sales team to ensure smooth operations and customer satisfaction within an AS9100-certified environment. - Address customer inquiries regarding job status and provide timely updates, maintaining positive customer relationships.
- Enter purchase orders accurately and efficiently into the Sage ERP System, ensuring all details are correct and complete.
- Professionally answer incoming phone calls and direct them to the appropriate department or individual.
- Create and maintain organized job folders, ensuring all relevant documentation is filed correctly.
- Communicate with customers via Outlook, providing purchase order confirmations and other necessary information.
- Manage and organize physical and digital files and documents, including scanning as needed.
- Order and maintain office supplies to ensure smooth departmental operations.
- Collaborate effectively with team members across various departments, fostering a positive and cooperative work environment.
- Report directly to the Sales Manager.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Proven experience in a sales support or customer service role, preferably within a manufacturing or aerospace environment.
- Experience in using the Sage ERP system for order entry and related tasks is a plus.
- Strong computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with a professional and friendly demeanor.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
- Attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and record keeping.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Flexibility to work overtime as needed.- Experience in the aerospace or forging industry.
While performing normal duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, and use hands frequently. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception to read instruments, operate material handling equipment and identify colors.
