Payroll Clerk

Kemp Quarries is seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Payroll Clerk to join our accounting team. In this role, you will be responsible for accurately processing payroll for all employees. Payroll Clerk Responsibilities include:

- Calculate and process employee wages, deductions, and taxes accurately and on time

- Reconcile payroll reports and resolve any discrepancies

- Processing time clock reporting with meticulous attention to detail, always ensuring accuracy of employee and contractor time records

- Tracking employee time off and ensuring the proper reporting of vacation, PTO, and holiday pay

- Performing daily payroll transactions which include verifying, classifying, computing, and posting payroll data

- Working closely with Human Resources to ensure accuracy of benefits deductions

- Assist with year-end reporting, including W-2 processing

- Assist with other related tasks and projects as needed

- Stay up to date on all relevant federal and state payroll regulations

Requirements Include:

- Proven work experience as payroll clerk or payroll administrator REQUIRED

- Solid understanding of basic bookkeeping and accounting principles

- Proven ability to calculate, post, and manage payroll data and financial records

- Data entry, attention to detail, and organizational skills

- Hands-on experience with Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Office, and payroll software

- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information

- Critical thinking and problem-solving skills

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

- Bachelor’s degree or 5 years of experience preferred
