We are seeking an 2nd or 3rd year Apprentice Welder. You will be working in a fast-paced, diverse environment. We offer a competitive starting salary, and full benefits after completion of the probationary period. The position is full-time, with standard hours of 8:00am to 4:30pm, Monday to Friday. Overtime and weekend and onsite work may be required depending on customer needs.
Responsibilities:
•Receive jobs from your manager and carry out what is needed to complete the job
•Assess the jobs received and decide the most efficient and effective way of completing the job without sacrificing quality, with the assistance of a manager if needed
•Check in with your manager in the morning for a job schedule and list of priorities.
•Run an initial quality control check on the parts that are finished
•Make sure to follow safety precautions (proper eyewear, safe footwear, proper monitoring of machinery etc.) in order to maintain a safe workplace for yourself and those around you
•Operate all welding supplies, tools & machines in accordance with manufacturer specifications and formal hazard assessments
•Maintain material/tool stock room to ensure that the area is kept clean and items are easily accessible
•Maintain a clean and organized workspace
•Communicate your questions or concerns with supervisors & managers.
•Report any concerns regarding machine maintenance, or performance of the machines. Schedule maintenance and repairs on these machines if needed
•Good understanding of repair shop atmosphere
•Multi-tasking with frequent need to respond to issues
•Willing to work overtime and weekends
