Job Overview
We are seeking a entry level Welder to join our team. The ideal candidate will have some welding experience and maintenance experience. An Entry Level welder performs welding on heat treating fixtures and assists with maintenance tasks.
- Weld with various materials including steel and stainless steel.
- Prepare different materials for welding and maintenance tasks.
- Build and repair fixtures (e.g. baskets & Screens) or parts as needed.
- Repair broken or cracked parts, fixtures and equipment.
- Keep all welding equipment, accessory equipment, tools and supplies in an arranged and tidy order.
- Ensure that all welding supplies and tools are available to support the company’s welding activities. (e.g. rods, files, sand papers, torch tips, personal protective equipment, clean up supplies, chemicals gases, fixture materials, safety materials, filters, paper towels/cloth rolls, soap and other necessary supplies).
- Select and set up welding equipment and work stations as needed.
- Provide a clean and safe working environment at welding work areas and welding Stations.
- Report all supply, equipment, building, grounds and safety concerns to the Maintenance Manager.
- Assist maintenance staff with assigned tasks. (e.g. preventative maintenance, minor vehicle/forklift repairs, painting, mowing, etc.)
- Participate in all company required training.
- Ensures security and proper use of company equipment, tooling, and supplies.
- Adheres to all safety standards and procedures, and maintains an ongoing awareness of safety for self and others in assigned work areas.
- Welding certificate preferred.
- Some welding experience required.
- Maintenance experience preferred.
- Ability to follow directions and work efficiently.
- Ability to work well with others and work independently.
Working Conditions: Office and factory environment, may encounter dirt, dust, oil, processing chemicals and varying temperatures. Summer temperatures could be extremely hot, over 100 degrees. Winter temperatures are cool.
- Considerable amount of walking, standing, and crouching.
- Able climb stairs or ladders.
- Able to lift 50 pounds.
- Required to Use of PPE, including but not limited to flame retardant uniform, gloves, safety shoes/boots, welding face shield, welder apron, and half-mask respirator.
Schedule: Monday- Friday 7am-3:30pm (with a 30-minute unpaid lunch).
