Under minimal supervision, performs welding applications within one or more work teams. Performs visual and in-process inspections in accordance with API and ISO quality specifications. Helps facilitate the team in diagnosing, troubleshooting, and solving welding problems that enhance throughput within the work team. Responsible for supporting the team and the team's objectives. Required to pass periodic welding tests and qualifications in compliance with qualification procedures.
- Ability to work safely.
- Set-up/run Weld Processes – 3 (GMAW, FCAW, GTAW).
- Ability to read drawings, WPS’s/PQR’s.
- Successfully complete Welder Performance Qualification Record (WPQR).
- Set-up/run Pipe Weld – All Positions (6G).
- Set-up/run Plasma Arc Gouging.
- Able to do any Weld Repair.
- Set-up/run the pipe bend and band saw machine.
- Set-up/run all structural non-code welds.
- Know how to run all welding equipment.
- Ability to lead others and plan ahead.
- Knowledge of PT, MT, UT, and RT methods.
- Average Percent of weld repairs - <0.5%.
- Use of hand tools (grinders, drills, pneumatic tools etc.)
- Cranes / Rigging knowledge
- Clean and stamp all welds.
- Ability to make correct decisions and accomplish tasks.
- Pipe-pup welding.
- Forklift Driving.
- Miscellaneous Fabrication.
- Radial arm drill operation
- Knowledge of welding processes.
- Must have a strong understanding of how to interpret and use blueprints, welding specifications, and welding procedures.
- Must be able to use and read welding measuring devices to include but not limited to squares, levels, and tape measures.
- High School Diploma or equivalent diploma.
