Utility Operator is an entry-level position, the operator controls boring machines or similar drilling or mill machines to bore, ream, or drill holes in metal. They operate presses for bushings, and bevel using track torches, plasma torches, hard facing sub arcing, etc. There will be on the job training, so previous experience is preferred, but not necessary to apply.
Responsibilities include the set-up, calibration, and maintenance of the machinery and other tools.
· Must be willing to perform various other shop duties as needed.
· Must be able to follow directions and maintain a professional attitude.
· Must have good verbal and written communication skills and be able to work within a team environment.
· Must be able to demonstrate an ability to use hand tools (tape measures, square, drill, saw, grinder, etc.) and have math skills or have a strong overall mechanical aptitude.
· Must be punctual/reliable and be willing to work overtime as needed.
· This position is active and requires standing, walking, bending, and kneeling throughout the day. Team Member must be able to lift, push, and/or pull items 5o+ lbs. safely.
· Must be willing to learn and adhere to required safety standards and practices.
· Must have or be obtaining a High School Diploma or equivalent.
· Must be able to read technical specifications and operate the machines.
· Experience with line boring, beveling, etc. nice, but not necessary.
