A Snapshot of Your Day

As a Winding Assembler, you will be responsible for performing final finishing of transformer windings, carrying out the assembly of the winding blocks and the documentation and quality checks of the process. This position is designed for someone with a growth mindset and a commitment to safety and quality compliance. You will receive specialized training in Large Power Transformer Manufacturing as well as cross-train in new processes as you progress in your job role. You will gain outstanding and valuable skills that will set you apart in the world of Large Power Transformers.

This position is based at our upcoming Siemens Energy Transformers Manufacturing Center in Charlotte, North Carolina. The facility is scheduled to be operational in 2026. Initially, your journey will involve supporting the factory’s construction, helping implement new processes, building a high-performance team, and coordinating all aspects of the setup to ensure a smooth transition into full-scale production.

How You’ll Make an Impact

- Performing final finishing of transformer windings and carrying out the assembly of the winding blocks

- Reads technical drawings, validates winding alignment within tolerances, and performs measurements and inspections to meet technical standards

- Operating overhead cranes, forklifts, and performing welding when necessary

- Prepares winding blocks for drying and pressing, and supports the development and maintenance of user documentation for winding assembly procedures

- Planning and reviewing the tasks to be carried out according to pre-established production plan and manufacturing standards.

- Responsible to fulfill and/or to support to fulfill all protocols, policies, guidelines, and competences coming from all current system [EHS, QA, CyberSec, etc.].

What You Bring

- An associate degree in a related field is preferred or equivalent experience in a manufacturing environment will also be considered

- Experience with relevant final finishing of transformer windings and carrying out the assembly of the winding blocks and technical training/experience.

- Ability to use math, read and interpret complex drawings, and perform sophisticated measurements.

- Applicant will need to obtain Keys certification test on reading and writing and Blueprint reading test offered by local community college, and obtain and maintain Forklift License and a Critical Lift level crane license and certification for working in heights.

Successful applicants will need to pass standard hearing, vision, and pulmonary function tests.

Must also be able to read, write, understand, and follow verbal and/or written instructions in English. Must be willing to relocate temporarily to Mexico, Brazil or Germany for on-the-job training for a period of 3 months based on the proficiency in the area of training. Appropriate relocation support and compensation will be provided.
