- Assemble, align, and install wall panels for BESS enclosures, ensuring proper sealing and structural integrity to protect LiFePO4 batteries and meet environmental standards (e.g., IP ratings).
- Measure, cut, bend, and install electrical conduit (rigid, EMT, or PVC) to route wiring for low-voltage battery systems, complying with National Electrical Code (NEC) standards.
- Secure conduit using appropriate fittings and supports to protect wiring for battery management systems (BMS) and power systems.
- Pull low-voltage wires through conduit systems, ensuring proper sizing, labeling, and compatibility with LiFePO4 battery systems.
- Land wires in control cabinets, inverters, and BMS, following detailed schematics and manufacturer specifications.
- Strip, crimp, and terminate wires with precision to ensure reliable low-voltage power and communication connections.
- Safely handle, transport, and install LiFePO4 battery modules, adhering to manufacturer guidelines and safety protocols to prevent damage or thermal runaway.
- Verify battery module specifications (e.g., 3.2V per cell, capacity, BMS compatibility) and inspect for physical damage, leaks, or defects before installation.
- Connect battery modules to the BMS and low-voltage power distribution systems, ensuring correct polarity, torque settings for terminal connections, and secure fastening.
- Mount and secure control cabinets, inverters, and BMS units, connecting wiring to terminals for battery monitoring and low-voltage power conversion.
- Perform continuity, insulation, and voltage testing to verify proper wiring and system integration for low-voltage applications.
- Assemble, wire, and test low-voltage electrical components for BESS, ensuring reliable integration of LiFePO4 batteries and associated systems.
- Conduct functional testing and troubleshooting of assemblies, including BMS, to ensure seamless power delivery and reliability in low-voltage systems.
- Adhere to strict electrical safety protocols, including OSHA and NEC, when handling low-voltage systems and LiFePO4 batteries.
- Follow lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures during installation, testing, and maintenance.
- Comply with hazardous material handling guidelines for LiFePO4 batteries, including proper storage and spill response procedures.
- Ensure all work meets UL 9540, NEC, UL 1973, NFPA 70E, OSHA standards, and 29 CFR for energy storage systems.
- Collaborate with production team members and engineers to integrate BESS components, ensuring compatibility and operational efficiency in low-voltage systems.
- Maintain accurate records of assembly processes, test results, battery serial numbers, and any deviations or issues for production.
- Report shortages, defects, or safety concerns (e.g., battery issues) to supervisors immediately.
- Assist in inventory management of electrical components, including LiFePO4 batteries and related parts.
- Support maintenance operations to ensure reliable performance of critical low-voltage systems during production.
- Participate in initiatives to optimize assembly processes for low-voltage systems and BESS integration.
