The Wind Technician I supports project scheduled maintenance, unscheduled maintenance, inspection, and operations on a U.S. wind site. Meets or exceeds contractual, company, and project requirements. Conducts self in a professional, ethical, and respectful manner to peers, managers, and clients. This is a great opportunity for early-career technicians with mechanical aptitude who are ready to grow within the renewable industry.
- Assist with scheduled and unscheduled maintenance and/or service activities.
- Support project teams with assessment, inspection and/or troubleshooting tasks.
- Document accurately, all service activity including parts/materials consumption, detailed task explanations, and task start and stop times using digital reporting systems.
- Participate in company and project health, safety and environmental, meetings, briefings and documentation requirements.
- Communicate issues and solutions concisely to leadership.
- Adheres to, supports, and enforces all company policies.
- Build and maintain positive relationships with clients, peers, and managers at the company and on projects.
- Work with Inventory Control to make sure projects are supplied properly with parts and consumables.
- Able to participate and respond to project in an On-Call 24/7/365 rotation schedule.
- Other duties as assigned by Supervisor.- 1+ years of mechanical, technical, preventative maintenance, or military experience.
- Wind industry exposure or tech school certification preferred.
- Vestas platform experience, LOTO, and certifications preferred (V100, V110).
- Comfortable climbing to and working at heights, confined spaces, and in adverse outdoor environments.
- Valid driver’s license and good driving record
- Willingness to travel from time to time for training or to assist on other projects.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.
- Must pass a criminal background check and drug test.
This role requires regular work at heights, confined spaces, physical stamina, and the ability to work a rotational on call schedule. Applicants must adhere to site safety practices and perform in variable outdoor environments.
As needed for training and to assist on other projects if necessary.
