Come Grow with Us! Forsite is actively looking for an intermediate-level Wildfire Management Forester
with experience and demonstrated aptitude in forest management, wildfire behaviour, wildfire risk management, and fuel management. Operating within the Forsite Fire Business Unit, the Wildfire Management Forester will work within a team of intermediate/senior planning foresters and wildland fire management specialists to develop and facilitate planning processes in response to a range of forest land management challenges.
The potential types of projects the role will be involved with may include developing fuel management prescriptions, treatment supervision, prescribed fire planning, and community and landscape level wildfire risk reduction planning.

- Post-secondary education in Forestry or an environmental/natural resource management focus;
- Background in operational forest management, wildfire fighting, and/or wildfire risk management would be an asset;
- Strong understanding of legislation and policy impacting forest and land management in Western Canada;
- Valid driver’s license and safe driving record;
- Able to work both independently under limited direct supervision as well as in a project team environment;
- Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to work under pressure to meet targets;
- Attention to detail to deliver high quality products;
- Willing to travel as needed to support clients and project work;
- A safety conscious attitude.
- Registered Professional Forester with the FPBC (or eligible);
- Experience engaging with First Nations, stakeholders, and the public;
- Project management experience, including tracking time and budgets;
- Experience supervising forestry contractors;
- Proficient in ESRI ArcGIS and Microsoft Office™ tools;
- Experience working within various ecosystems and forest types.
