Job Description

Mack Iron is seeking a full-time welder / fabricator to fabricate a unique group of carbon steel, stainless steel and/or alloy steel products for its customers around the world. Operations required include sanding/grinding, rolling/forming, welding using GTAW, and covering or lining with wire mesh using RSW. Candidates must be detail oriented and have a desire to build things.

Recommended Areas of Knowledge and/or Skill

- Proficiency in welding using the GTAW (GMAW a plus) process on various materials

- Knowledgeable of welding processes including heat input and distortion control

- Capable of following work instructions and shop drawings and maintaining specifications

- Able to work with fractions and decimals, use a tape measure and check own work for accuracy

- Ability to safely work with small to medium pneumatic tools; grinders, cutting wheels, etc.

- Physically able to safely lift 50 lbs.

- Willingness to be cross trained in additional areas of fabrication and welding

Responsibilities

- Read, understand and adhere to customer drawings, weld symbols, and tolerances

- Hold weld sizes, linear dimensions, squareness, and flatness within tolerances

- Produce unique variety of high-quality products on a consistent basis

- Perform all required functions in a safe manner
