JOB TITLE: Welder/Fabricator Technician
REPORTS TO: Department Manager with directions from Team Leader
STARTING PAY: $25.55/ with the ability to earn more
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Welder-Fabricator Technician to join our maintenance team. The ideal candidate will possess a solid foundation in welding and fabrication techniques, with a strong emphasis on aluminum materials. You will be responsible for executing precise cuts and welds. WHAT YOU WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR:
- Read, interpret, and follow basic blueprints, diagrams, engineering drawings, specifications, weld symbols, bill of materials and other written instructions or procedures to accurately create equipment and products.
- Maintaining welding machines using preventive maintenance methods.
- Maintaining inventory of manufacturing products and welding consumables.
- Operating calipers, weld gauges, tape measures and other melding hand tools.
- Utilizing handheld tools such as an air arc, drill gun, and grinders.
- Create specific weldment set-up and fixturing to meet geometric requirements.
- Perform quality work checks to ensure the product meets quality standards.
- Rework and/or repair welded parts and products according to engineering specification changes.
- Perform all work in accordance with quality standards and established safety procedures.
- Prioritize workflow through effective communication with management staff/team lead.
- Maintain a clean and safe work area.
WHAT YOU WILL NEED:
- High School Diploma or GED. Specific technical or vocational training or certification preferred.
- 2-5 years’ welding experience/strong understanding of welding techniques and processes.
- Experience with metal/familiarity with various welding tools and equipment.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Basic computer navigation and utilization skills.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Work in a team environment as well as independently.
- Must pass company background check and drug screen.
